Unlike the previous generation P60/P70 with the old CPU core, MediaTek P90 first tried to use the new generation DynamIQ CPU core, so we saw that the CPU part consists of two Cortex-A75 large cores and six Cortex-A55 small cores.

The Cortex-A75 is not the latest core of ARM. Because the Cortex-A76 has been commercialized by the processors of Hess and other companies, MediaTek will not miss it. It calls the Cortex-A76 core the next generation processor.

It is worth mentioning that the CPU architecture combination of MediaTek P90 processor is similar to Qualcomm's Opteron 710. It is two big cores + six small cores, so that people think it is the Snapdragon 710.

On the GPU side, MediaTek did not choose ARM's own Mali architecture, but instead adopted the IMG 9XM-HP8 from Imagination, claiming a performance improvement of about 50% over the Mali-G72 MP3. Built-in AI acceleration unit, AI performance is nearly twice as fast as Snapdragon 710, 3 times faster than P60.

For the camera, MediaTek Helio P90 supports a dual camera combination of 25 million pixels + 16 million pixels, and supports a 32-megapixel single camera. Compared with the P60/P70, it seems that the mobile phone equipped with the processor is missing the camera next year. Fighting for a 48-megapixel smartphone.

Although MediaTek Helio P90 is the main AI camera, but does not support the three cameras, making the processor in the mid-range market popularized by the three cameras next year is difficult to make a difference, perhaps used in the thousand yuan machine market is good.

In addition, the continuous three-generation 12nm process is incomprehensible. Next year, the mobile phone flagship processor is 7/8nm. As a mid-range processor, the Helio P90 has to be at least 10nm. It must be known to MediaTek last year. The release of the Helio X30 is on the 10nm process.
